We run courses in collaboration with Europe Netball and other netball regions around the world to help grow and develop umpires and coaches in Dubai.
Education is available for young leaders as well as professional development courses and workshops for current teachers and coaches. We work in collaboration with schools in Dubai to provide a number of opportunities to develop coaches and umpires throughout the year.
Umpires enable everyone to play the game in a safe, fair and enjoyable environment. Umpiring also develops skills that can be used for life: communication, resilience and leadership just to name a few!
There are many opportunities to become involved as an umpire in Netball, with clear pathways and support structures available for those aspiring to officiate at the highest level.
Active Netball is the sole approved provider of Europe Netball officiating courses and assessments in the UAE. Our advanced courses are hosted by Europe Netball tutors and Dubai boasts a number of qualified mentors and assessors who support our Umpire Development Officer Dani in developing umpires as they embark on their officiating journey.
Team Buddies are needed for all young teams. This is a good way to begin your coaching journey and learn how to manage a team, the importance of warming up and cooling down, what snacks to bring on match day and why and how to give positive encouragement to players.
You will build an understanding of positional responsibility and how to encourage players to get their job done for the team.
Being a coach is very rewarding and impactful, coaches play an important part in being a role model for youth development.
