PARTICIPATION & INJURY
I understand that netball is a physical sport and involves inherent risks, including falls, collisions, sprains, strains, bruising, fractures, concussion and other injuries.
I agree that the participant will follow reasonable instructions from coaches, officials and staff and will participate in a responsible manner.
I understand that the Organisation will take reasonable steps to provide a safe sporting environment but that injuries and accidents cannot be completely eliminated.
EMERGENCY / MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
In the event of an accident, injury, illness or medical emergency, I authorise the Organisation and its designated staff to provide reasonable first aid and to contact the emergency contact and/or emergency medical services where necessary.
Where urgent medical attention is required, I understand that emergency services may be contacted without prior consent in order to protect the participant’s health and safety.
I understand that the Organisation may remove a participant from play where it reasonably considers continued participation to be unsafe.
Nothing in this waiver is intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable UAE law.
SAFEGUARDING – JUNIOR PARTICIPANTS
The Organisation is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for children and young people.
Any concern relating to a child’s safety, welfare, bullying, abuse, inappropriate behaviour or safeguarding may be reported to the Organisation’s designated safeguarding contact and, where appropriate or required, to the parent/guardian, emergency services or relevant UAE authorities.
RESPECTFUL BEHAVIOUR AND CODE OF CONDUCT
All participants, parents/guardians, coaches and staff are expected to contribute to a positive sporting environment.
Participants must not engage in:
• Bullying or harassment;
• Discrimination;
• Threatening or abusive behaviour;
• Violence or deliberate harmful conduct;
• Sexual or otherwise inappropriate behaviour;
• Behaviour that places other participants, coaches or staff at unreasonable risk.
The Organisation reserves the right to remove or suspend a participant from an activity where their conduct creates a safety, safeguarding or welfare concern.
PRIVACY AND USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
The Organisation may collect and use information provided on this form for purposes including:
• Participant registration and administration;
• Health and safety;
• Emergency response;
• Safeguarding;
• Communication regarding activities;
• Attendance and participation records;
• Incident and insurance management;
• Legal or regulatory obligations.
The Organisation will take reasonable steps to protect personal information and will only share information where reasonably necessary, authorised, or required by law.
CANCELLATION OR REFUSAL OF PARTICIPATION
The Organisation may refuse or stop a participant’s participation where it reasonably believes:
• Participation is unsafe;
• The participant is injured or unwell;
• The participant’s behaviour creates a risk to themselves or others;
• A safeguarding concern exists;
• The participant is not following reasonable instructions or applicable rules.
Where a junior participant is removed from participation for safety or safeguarding reasons, the Organisation will seek to contact the parent/guardian as appropriate.
